New Reader Services
I am happy to announce several new services to help us fulfill our mission of encouraging the love of reading! The tools below will connect you with a wealth of resources related to the library's collections for all ages, as well as author information, and the ability to subscribe to content that interests you. Please explore these new resources and let us know what you think! As with any new service, there may be some kinks to work out along the way, so let us know if you find something that isn't quite right. And don't forget, one of the best resources for connecting to a great new book is the library staff - we love to talk about books, so if you don't find something interesting here be sure to visit us at the library.
Learn about your favorite authors at AuthorCheck. Read bios, check author webpages, and sign up to track an author so you'll be notified when a new book by the author arrives at the library.
Sample books in your email with our DearReader Online Book Clubs. Over a week, you'll have read 2 or 3 chapters. If you like the book, you can check InfoSoup to see if it's available to check out at the library. And here's some exciting news! They'll be coming out with an app sometime soon, which will make it even easier to use.
New Book Alerts is a free online service that showcases the newest titles purchased by the library. You can select to receive alerts via email and/or RSS feeds. If you see a new title you're interested in, just click the "Check Catalog" button to place a hold on the item right away. Lists of new materials are available in a variety of categories.
SelectReads helps connect you with titles old and new - hidden gems waiting for you to discover on our shelves. Subscribe to the list categories that interest you and receive monthly newsletters that will offer you titles to explore. You can also sign up for the library's Event Newsletter here.
