Inspiring and supporting lifelong learning and the love of reading

Teens

Welcome to the Tweens & Teens page! We are passionate about connecting teens with great books & authors, encouraging reading for pleasure, and creating fun experiences at the library. If you need help, please contact the library and ask for Ms. Ann.

Summer is a perfect time to read for pleasure, and the library has a great music-inspired summer reading program called Libraries Rock! to encourage you in your reading endeavors. Registration begins on May 29 , and the program runs June 11-August 4 for eight weeks of reading fun! Stop by either location to sign up and pick up your reading logs. Read for two hours each week for a chance to win a grand prize, plus engage in classes, concert, and other shows that entertain and educate. See you this summer!

Discover new artistic possibility when you combine collage and multimedia with monoprinting techniques. First we will layer colors, patterns, and textures on a piece of artistic paper. Then we will integrate monoprint and collage techniques using masks and stencils to build images directly onto paper. The limitations between painting, monoprinting, and collage disappear as you gain a fluidity of process and new creative expression.
