Many gardeners used to "settle" for hostas as the only alternative for the shady corners of their yard. Now, thousands of varieties provide unique shades, patterns, and forms, and are highly sought after. Tammy Borden will cover new and popular varieties. In addition, she’ll talk about hostas in containers, those that can be grown in sunnier locations, proper care and siting, and companion planting. She’ll even touch a bit on hybridizing of hostas. Tammy has been a Master Gardener since 2004 and has over 500 varieties of hostas in her own yard, which will be one of the featured tour gardens for the 2019 American Hosta Society National Convention. She has been a speaker for 15 years and is the author of the book, "A Perennial Life."
