KimLit Arts & Crafts: August 2018
KimLit Arts & Crafts happens the fourth Thursday of every 2018 month at our Little Chute location and is intended for ages 16 and up. This month's topic will be embroidery! We will be doing a small embroidery project to learn a few basic stitches with our guest teacher, Embroidery Guild of America member, Laura Reinbacher.
No fees or registration required this A&C Night, but we have limited supplies.
About the project: Palms in the Sun is a tropical themed miniature embroidery piece. Miniature embroidery has a fascination about it, doesn’t it? You can do so many things with such a tiny loop such as pendants, earrings, or keyrings. In this class, we will be making a key ring. The picture will be palm trees with a sunset background. You will learn basic embroidery stitches: Straight stitch, satin stitch, fly stitch and the split stitch. No experience necessary. In the meantime, invite friends and share your hot crafting tips and tricks in the Facebook Event.
Please note: This location is closed to the general public at this time, so we get the library all to ourselves to create and explore this month's arts/crafts topic. Participants (and participants only) will be able to check out materials at this time if desired. Our Kimberly location is open until 8 pm on Thursdays.
Thank you to our Friends of the Library group who volunteers for us and helps support this program and other programs like it. We love our FOLKS (Friends of Little Chute Kimberly Library System), and know you will too. Find out how you can support FOLKS or just say thank you by clicking here.
