Truly Remarkable Loon--yes, that is his real name!-- has been performing as a juggler for forty years. His comedy juggling show, "Read Books and Juggle Everything Else," features a great variety of technical juggling and balancing feats, non-stop comedy patter, and a big dose of foolishness. Great for children and adults alike!

Pages in the Park

Arrive at the park anytime between 5-7 p.m. to enjoy a self-led story walk in the woods. Pages from a delightful picture book will be stationed along the stroller-friendly path to read together as you enjoy the beauty of nature. Families will also have the option to cross the Fox River canal on the bow-string pedestrian bridge that connects Heesakker Park and Island Park. A craft related to the story will be available after the walk in the pavilion. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic dinner for a fun family evening in the park. Animals Are Builders, Too

Meet some amazing animal builders with artist Mary Tooley. This program features animal architects including the octopus, spider, crow, bower bird, paper wasp, and beaver. Find out who makes a decorated home for his girlfriend, a crazy den to hide in, a lodge that’s waterproof, and a trap to catch lunch. Real science specimens such as a wasps’ nest, puppets, and pictures will keep all ages engaged. This interactive program concludes with everyone constructing a 3D paper spider web and spider to take home.

Artist Mary Tooley will present a hands-on art workshop exploring a variety of simple paper sculpture techniques and displaying pictures of some of the world’s most amazing buildings. The young artists are then challenged to see how tall a structure they can build with tagboard and other materials. It’s super-sized fun and children can take their colorful creations home. Come and see what amazing things you and your friends can build! Great for grades 1-5.

It's time to go ROCKIN' AND READING with Leonardo when he strums into town from Chicago with his humorous, high energy musical program that inspires young rockers to become big readers!  This highly interactive performance has plenty of sing-a-longs, hand signs, dance moves, and volunteers "jamming" with the band. As part of Build a Better World, audiences will build letters and words with their bodies while learning that their actions can make the world a better place.
